Steps for adding and subtracting fractions:
1) Make all mixed numbers improper fractions (multiply the whole number by the denominator & then add the numerator)
2) Find a common denominator (this will be the least common multiple of the numerator and denominator)
3) Make equivalent fractions using the LCM as the denominator for both fractions
4) Add or Subtract
5) Make improper fractions mixed numbers
6) Simplify
